About Ellesmere Kennedy Dental Centre
For more than 40 years, Ellesmere Kennedy Dental Centre has been providing dental services for patients in Scarborough, Ontario. The current owners purchased the practice from the original owners in 1997, ensuring that the office can continue to serve the dental health needs of patients in the area.
Meet the Doctors
Dr. Gilbert Chan
Dr. Chan was born and raised in Hong Kong. He completed high school in the United Kingdom before starting his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree as well as his degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. To further his education, Dr. Chan has completed the F.O.R.C.E. Intl. Comprehensive Orthodontics program, and he is a certified Invisalign provider. With 30 years of experience providing comprehensive dental care to his community, Dr. Chan views all his patients as family. He strives to treat all patients sincerely and honestly.
Dr. Chan is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys hiking, golfing, and traveling with his family.
Dr. Daphne Chien
Dr. Chien was born in Hong Kong and attended high school in the United Kingdom and Toronto, and it was in the Ontarian capital that she remained to go to university. After 2 years of undergraduate studies in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toronto, she was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry, where she completed her training as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Chien has been working at the Ellesmere Kennedy location since her graduation, first as an associate dentist. She purchased the practice and became the principal dentist and a partner of Ellesmere Kennedy Dental Centre with Dr. Gilbert Chan for nearly 30 years.
She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, be it cosmetic or restorative, including crowns, bridges, dentures, periodontal treatments and root canal treatments. As a mother of three, she prides herself on her ability to work with children and helping her patients of all ages to achieve beautiful long lasting smiles in the most gentle way.
“The joy of seeing my patients and taking care of their young family and now their grandchildren are the best rewards of my dentistry career,” says Dr. Chien.
Dr. Janet Ho
Dr. Ho grew up in North York and Richmond Hill. A native of the Greater Toronto Area, she attended and completed her undergraduate education at the University of Toronto in 1998 and Doctor of Dental Surgery training at the University of Toronto in 2002.
Dr. Ho enjoys all aspects of dentistry, cosmetic, restorative, gum treatment, root canal treatment, crowns, bridges, dentures and implants. She has been your friendly neighbourhood dentist at Ellemere Kennedy Dental for over 20 years.
Outside of the dental clinic, Dr. Ho enjoys reading and meditating.
Dr. Janet Wong
Dr. Janet Wong has been passionately serving the dental needs of patients since graduating from New York University College of Dentistry in 2004. Originally from Thornhill, Ontario, Dr. Wong has always been committed to providing the highest quality dental care, ensuring that each patient receives the most effective and comfortable treatment possible.
In her spare time, Dr. Wong enjoys biking through scenic trails and spending cozy moments with her family and beloved dog.
